Register now for our September Advocacy Action Week!
Are you an IBD patient, or caregiver, or healthcare provider who is interested in supporting the Foundation’s advocacy efforts, and not sure where to begin? Our September Advocacy Action Week is the perfect opportunity for you to dip your toes into the advocacy waters!
What is Advocacy Action Week?
During the week of September 12-16, 2022, you will schedule a virtual meeting with ONE of your federal legislators to share your IBD story and urge their support for the Safe Step Act, Medical Nutrition Equity Act, and IBD medical research funding. Whether you have participated in advocacy before, or you are a brand-new IBD advocate, this is a great way to build relationships with your lawmakers and their staff, and to encourage them to support our issues.
Will I receive training?
Yes! We will provide training and support throughout the process and will provide all the necessary resources to you to make the process easy and enable you to have a successful meeting with your federal legislators. NO prior experience is necessary to participate or be successful in this Advocacy Action Week.
When will my legislative meeting take place?
You will schedule a meeting with your federal legislator’s office at a day and time that is convenient to you during the week of September 12-16. Most of these meetings will take place between 9:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
How do I register?
To register, complete your information on this page.
Once your registration is confirmed, we will reach out with information about upcoming trainings and resources. We will teach you how to advocate and provide you with training and talking points. We'll also help you think about how to share your story – sharing your personal experience, or the experience of someone you care for, will put a real face on this issue for legislators.
We hope you will join us virtually for our September Advocacy Action Week to help us raise awareness about Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis and advocate for improved access to care for IBD patients! Please reach out to [email protected] with any questions.
